Rully 1er cru Rabourcé
- Appellation
- Rully 1er cru "rabourcé"
- Region
- Appellation: 1er cru of the Côte Chalonnaise, Saône et Loire
- Location
- With its chateau (in the same family for 6 centuries), its church with its elegant steeple, beautiful houses and parks, Rully (pronounced Ruilly) is a village with a very long history. The Saint-Bénigne abbey in Dijon, the powerful Maison de Vergy. The dukes of Burgundy are part of the history of these vineyards in the Côte Chalonnaise. The Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée was established in 1939. Rully produces both white (Chardonnay) and red (Pinot Noir) as Village and Premier Cru wines. It is also one of the most important places for the production of Crémant de Bourgogne, and has been since the beginning of the 19th century.
- The Terroir
- The nuances between wines arise from differences in the terroirs, exposures and altitudes, which vary quite a lot here. Between 230 and 300 metres in altitude, the slope gives wines that rival the best Côte de Beaune wines, right next door. Clay and limestone: Chardonnay wines.

- Serve With
- With its fine lingering fruitiness and well-rounded mouthfeel Rully is the perfect accompaniment for delicate, soft-textured dishes: at the top of the list come fried river fish, sea fish in a white sauce and warm shellfish. It goes very well with hard cheeses like comté, with which it shares its fruitiness. It will enhance fine poultry in creamy sauces, engaging in a very long, pleasant conversation. It can also be drunk as an aperitif. Serve at: 12 - 14°C.
- CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WINE
- Golden with green highlights, becoming a deeper buttercup yellow with age, it distinguishes itself with aromas of "hedgerow flowers" such as acacia, hawthorn, honeysuckle, very fine elderberry, or violet, lemon, white peach or flint. With time, it develops notes of honey, quince, dried fruits. To the palate, it is fruity, a lively, rounded, rich and lingering fruitiness: all the freshness and smoothness of marble.
